In the Spring...
Fresh green vineyards, scented roses... sunny days and deep blue skies, spring is the perfect time to visit Limoux with beautiful walks, scenic drives, and include a wine tasting, especially of the local Blanquette de Limoux.
La Place
In August Limoux is buzzing, with night markets, concerts in La Place de la République, and the chance to relax at one of the bars or restautants, enjoying the atmosphere of a truly beautiful square.
Limoux pools

In and around Limoux are many wonderful places to visit and a well-organised range of activities. Local swimming pools are open in July and August, only 10 minutes walk away, with a kayaking centre opposite and tennis courts nearby.

A season of change... Plenty of time to visit ancient Cathar castles around Limoux, like this one at Monségur, enjoy views of the Pyrénées from hilltop walks, and include a visit to the fascinating Rennes le Chateau.
Winter sun...
Join in with the Carnival, held in the square every weekend from January to March. There is also the opportunity to visit ski stations at Les Monts D'Olmes & Camurac, only 75 mins drive, and enjoy the cross country skiing at Chouila.

Limoux has annual events during the year, beginning with the Carnival, when pierrots representing millers throw confetti, originally flour, to the crowds, who join in with an unusual dance that involves twirling a decorated stick in a particular way to a repetitive musical theme, absolutely compelling, and historically beginning way back in the 15th century!

In May, a Brass Festival, with both IN and OUT performances - a lively mix of concerts, musicians, stalls and Blanquette de Limoux, all held over a long weekend.

And then the Musée de Piano begins its concerts from May to September... a mix of classical music held in the only complete piano museum in France. The concerts are excellent if you're lucky enough to be here on the day, some are free entry but most need to be reserved as places are limited.
